»Stewardship opportunities to offer financial     support

Thank you for considering the variety of ways you can offer financial support for the ministry of University Congregational United Church of Christ. Thanks to the financial support of members and friends, the ministry and mission of the congregation is able to thrive!

Annual Pledging: UCUCC conducts an annual pledge campaign that funds over 80% of our annual budget. By making a pledge, you help our church plan for the year ahead and use our resources wisely. Giving Record: We send a quarterly giving record to all pledgers and regular givers so you will have a record of the gifts you have given, and so the church has a chance to say thank you! Here are some of your options for giving:

Sunday morning worship offering:  Each week we have an opportunity to give to the church’s ministry as a part of our worship in thanksgiving and response to the gifts that God has given us. You can write a check to UCUCC and place it in the offering plate when it is passed. You can also contribute cash; if you enclose the cash in an envelope with your name on it, your gift will be noted in your giving record. 

Online giving:  You can give on line through our secure donation web site, operated by Vanco Services, an industry leader for electronic giving. Vanco’s e.service® via the web provides a secure and easy way for you to make recurring or one-time donations.  Click here for the secure web site.

Automatic Deductions:  This is a reliable, safe way to conveniently put your stewardship plan into action. Because your gift is given consistently, there’s no need to play “catch-up” at year-end or worry about forgotten checkbooks or missed Sunday offerings.  We can set up a regular giving schedule that works for you: weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Mail:  We are also glad to accept checks by mail throughout the week. Just make the check payable to UCUCC and mail to the church at 4515 16^th Ave NE, Seattle, WA  98105. 

Offering envelopes:  We will provide monthly or weekly giving envelopes for your convenience, if you would like them. Click here to request giving envelopes.

Stock donations: We are glad to accept donations of publicly traded securities.  Because gifts of stock made to UCUCC give donors a double tax benefit, whether sold at a gain or loss, many consider giving such gifts. It may be useful to keep the following in mind.

• Stock losses: To make a gift of stock or mutual funds for which you have a loss, simply sell the securities first and then contribute the proceeds. In this way, you may be able to take a capital loss on your tax return and take a charitable deduction for your cash contribution to the church.

• Stock gains: To make a gift of appreciated stock to UCUCC, transfer the stock to UCUCC (the church will then sell it).  You will pay no capital gains tax on the transfer, and may be able to take a charitable tax deduction for the value of your stock.   Click here for information on stock donations.  

Planned giving:  Planned giving enables us to perpetuate our financial support for the church and its “Good News” beyond our lifetimes. We really can give a gift that keeps on giving long after we can no longer occupy our place in the pew.
