Youth Group is a place where we TALK about things that matter, we DO things that matter and we KNOW we BELONG! We build community through play, service, leadership, celebration, trust and prayer.
When asked what makes youth group different from other groups and what makes youth group so special, here’s what our youth had to say:
“Youth Group is different from other groups because people are more open and the support system is stronger – that makes it easier to be friends.”
“The culture of love and acceptance makes it so much easier to come into the group.”
“At Youth Group, we are more willing to open up and do not judge each other. The social system in youth group is different from that of middle school or high school - we challenge each other to break the norms of society and everyday standards.”
“Youth group is a place to escape the daily shenanigans, a place to just be yourself, a place to let go of worries and a place to be with people you can trust and count on. We are fully invested in each other by offering support and a listening ear.”
The Youth Program at University Congregational UCC is for grades 6-12. We meet every Sunday morning at 9am in the Pilgrim Room (downstairs). We have evening fellowships once a month and a middle school and high school lunch twice a month. The Youth Group offers 8 retreats: Fall All Youth Retreat, Middle School Retreat, High School Retreat, Girls Retreat, Boys Retreat, Kids Camp, Middle School Mission Trip and the High School Mission Trip.
We hope you will join us!
