At its May meeting Church Council
authorized a task force to look into whether now is the right time to launch a capital campaign.
It’s been almost 10 years since the last campaign, New Cornerstones, which raised money to fund
a major building renovation. What projects would be funded by this capital campaign? Already
a list is being compiled including building maintenance and repairs identified during New
Cornerstones and since; organ repairs; technology upgrades including the sound system, computers
and Wi-Fi; building endowments or major gifts for one or more Love and Justice outreach projects;
and much more. All projects funded would further the vision and ministry of our church. The Task Force, made up of representatives of boards and other interests, wants to hear what YOU would like to see on the list. Look for the capital campaign insert in the July 3-17, 2011 edition of Church and Home (also available in the office and online below). Tell us what you’d like to see funded by a capital campaign. Dream big! Capital campaigns only happen every decade or so. These are projects that can’t be funded by annual giving because they are simply too big or too bold. What’s your bold dream for this church? Return your completed form (available below) to the church office or to Kathy Kripps, kkripps@q.com. If your board or group would like a visit from a Capital Campaign Exploration Task Force member to talk about a project or the possibility of a campaign, contact Betty Spieth, bettys@seanet.com. |

Solar Installation Proposal (PDF 1.2mb)
One of the items on the wish list is the installation of solar panels on the roof of the church. This document is a proposal that was researched and written by members of Sacred Earth Matters and the Facilities and Equipment Board for submission to the Executive Committee in early 2011.Click here for an online PDF viewer.
